Designing a kitchen is a challenging task while designing a kitchen under a sloping ceiling is a truly challenging task.
Most people nowadays want a kitchen island or at least a kitchen peninsula. But we have to accept a compromise sometimes. I always show the client several layout options before we decide on one. This is important because this is the only way one can see what works best in the room, which is why it is then easier to accept a compromise.
The customer wished for a lot of white and some wood in her interior. She wanted clean lines and minimalism but with character and warmth. A few gold accents and a kit-kat ceramic wall covering gave the otherwise white kitchen a lot of character. Combined with the subtle warmth of wood in the dining room, the interior becomes warm, bright, and inviting.
White represents a timeless elegance while also creating a clean and fresh look. In this kitchen under the slope ceiling, it also helps create the illusion of more height and depth, giving the room a more spacious and expansive feel.
Some might oppose the white color in the kitchen because every crumb can be seen on it. Well, personally, I do want to know whether I am preparing food on a clean counter or not.
Layering white colors, patterns, textures, and materials in matte and glossy finishes is also a challenging task. There are several different shades of white. Yes, they have to match their underlying tone, but different shades of white, give depth and interest.
Although the kitchen is placed under a sloping ceiling, it still feels open and airy, right?
