Only minutes away from Ljubljana, a young family has discovered the perfect spot to build their dream home. Collaborating closely with talented architects, they crafted a remarkable 182.5 m² residence that exudes charm at first sight. We carried the modern exterior hues of gray to an inviting interior design.
This exquisite home boasts a thoughtful design spanning two floors. The main entrance is on the upper floor, from where the internal staircase leads to the ground floor. Here, you’ll discover a spacious living room, kitchen, dining area, restroom, kitchen pantry, and utility room. On the upper floor, there is an entrance hall, a bedroom for the parents, three children’s rooms, a master bathroom, and a bathroom for the children.
As always when I take on a new project, we take a detailed look at the proposed floor plan. Fortunately, the original design boasted excellent functionality that only required minor tweaks to improve performance and/or appearance.
One notable adjustment involves the window in the living room, situated to the right of the television. Initially designed to be near the ceiling, we opted to lower it to avoid the basement-like ambiance. This strategic shift not only floods the room with natural light but also frames a delightful view of the lush greenery outside. Beneath the window, we envisioned an extended bench, doubling as a versatile table where the youngest members of the family can unleash their creativity.
